I'm hiding from the sun and the crowds, photographing the primitive vegetation. It's New Years Eve, and the streets are full of dazed people wearing bug-eyed Paris Hilton sunglasses and buying copious amounts of alcohol. The upside is there will be fireworks at midnight. I like fireworks!
Enjoy the celebration of the New Year. I'm just about 24.5 hours away from it here. Tomorrow night I'll be at the Folklore Society of Greater Washington's ball.
