There are worse places to put your money, I guess. Like dodgy finance companies, f'rinstance. I probably wouldn't go to a race meeting in one of the big cities but I quite like the Thames races with their air of provincial unpretentiousness.

In other news I have learned that at least sometimes they don't shut down the wireless network when the library is closed. Sweet!
