We sat on the stormwater outfall and watched the stars come out. Shell commented on the constant noise of the breaking waves. She comes from I forget where exactly - Missouri, I think, but somewhere far inland where the largest bodies of water are lakes, and have the decency to be quiet when the wind is still.

In other observations, I have found that saying yes to various random things has tended to have worthwhile results.
