Not a complete waste of makeup

Self portrait at home after photographing the troupe I dance with - including myself. This is quite a hard ask, particularly since I still don't have any lights and had to rely on the on-camera flash. It's also exhausting trying to be a dancer and a photographer at the same time while trying to squish down various body image issues - my own and others. My focus was all over the place. Still - I did get at least one decent shot - er - not including this one. I shall look at the rest tomorrow.

Shells, pieces of paper, clouds and insects are so much more calming.

Interesting bit of make-up and self-portrait. I'm going out on a short limb to say you danced along with being the photographer. Self-portraits are always difficult. They show everyone, including ourselves, what we believe we look like. Quite literally bring ourselves face to face with ourselves.

You'd be correct, although it was more of a photography session than a dance-class. I think I'd prefer not to think too deeply about the psychological ins-and-outs of self portraits just yet - it's uncomfortable enough just doing them.
