Cuba Carnival night parade.

I just caught the end of the parade after going out for dinner. Great atmosphere.
Note to self for night shooting. It's supposed to be dark. Tell the camera to expect that, and you'll end up with fewer shots unusable due to movement blur.

I love the sense of movement, particularly in the first one. All bring with them that sense of Things Happening!

I'm not saying that some blur is not a good thing - but I got about ten shots I'd show anybody, of about 200, and there were good opportunities wasted because I didn't think. It's a lesson for next time.

Ah, Therein Is The Lesson

The most difficult of lessons for any artist (much less a photographer) to learn.

Only show them the 5% which are Worth While. *G*

Hey - allow me my frustration. That way lies improvement. ;)

Oh, keep the frustration by all means. For the very reason you cite. When I started off, shooting film that provided 12 frames/roll, I was happy when I reached a point where 1% of the frames provided me something I considered worth while.

Which, since I also wanted to be a nice, frugal fellow, kicked up the frustration level on not wasting film!

It is, in the long run, a two-part answer.

Oh, yes I'm glad that the cost has moved away from the consumables - and for the instant feedback digital gives.
