The weeds need mowing and I don't care

I lost myself for perhaps an hour yesterday afternoon, on the back lawn, judging exposure times using a method of guess and check. All I wanted was for the very white head of this defunct dandelion to not be washed out.
I'm sure my flatmates think me obsessed, but that doesn't matter. It was totally worth it.

Thanks. I'm really pleased with how they've come out. The DSLR is a still a very new toy for me, and I've been having issues with pictures turning out too bright and not sharp enough.
These are the first pics where I've felt that I was working with the camera rather than against it.
