I picked these up at a crowded little second hand shop in Newtown owned by a Chinese family.
In my price range (low) I much prefer to get furniture that has a) developed a bit of character and b) doesn't consist of MDF and extruded aluminium. These are made of oak, cane and 1950's looking vinyl, which will be replaced forthwith. They seem to have developed character by sitting in someones shed, judging by the splatters of white house paint.
The guy from the shop delivered them and me home in his dodgy van. He admired the view from my place and commented on the wind, and told me the Chinese (presumably Cantonese, 'cause thats where he said he came from) word for view and for wind are the same.
