Now that is RED. Some kind of lily?

Coincidentally, red is the colour I ended up posting for today, too. So I've linked to this post as well for those who might be interested.

Do you think your camera handled the red well? Maybe it is me who has trouble with the red and not my camera. I'm looking at yours and I can't find fault with the red, but at the same time it is so brilliant it overwhelms a little. Probably me.

Great shot, either way :D

Nutty

I am inspiring! I must add that to the list of Affirmations with Evidence.

Actually I remember the flower as being a deeper, darker red and less orangy as well. I think it's a monitor response thing - I've been reading a bit around colour theory and monitors (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gamut) - and I think that it's just that monitors don't get down as far into the red as our eyes can pick up. I don't know about the colour response of commercial cameras, but I'm guessing they suffer from a similar problem.
The diagram in the Wikipedia article is for a CRT, but I found one for an LCD and it's not very different.
