A collection of flat concrete blocks and slabs sticking out into the water sounds pretty unappealing on the face of it, but somehow here works. The square shapes echo the city behind it and the wavelets over various blocks submerged at different depths provide a play-space for kids, starfish and the occasional erstwhile physicist.

What can't be seen from this picture is that the sandy  beach is as artificial as the concrete block thing. 27,000 tonnes of sand was brought in to supplement this beach, and it has to be periodically shifted around and topped up as it has a tendency to shift towards the city.

It's very nicely done. I guess a lot of people go there, yes?

This was the first sunny weekend day in quite some time, so I'd guess it was busier than usual. I don't go down here very often so I really couldn't say.
