Sponge finger

An interesting texture. That's all. This next bit has nothing to do with sponges, except in so far as I also am a primitive organism.
One of the things I found when studying Aikido was that every so often I'd have a string of classes where my technique would fall to bits and I couldn't do a damn thing right. So frustrating, but afterwards I'd find that my abilities had taken, if not a giant leap, certainly a significant step forwards. I came to look forward to the days of crap performance almost as much as the brief moments of oh-so-sweet perfection. (There were one or two. Have you ever felt that you occupied exactly the right volume of space? And that that volume extended two or three feet from where you could comfortably reach? Weird feeling, very cool.)
For the past couple of weeks, I've been having a hell of a frustrating time at bellydance class. Tonight I remembered that this is a good thing.
