That's nice! I'd crop it tighter, to get just the moon and the scrollwork with the blue sky behind it.

I wonder how many Brooklyns there are in the world? We have one here, just a few miles north of my house. There's the famous one in New York City, and then there's Brookline Massachussets.

This Brooklyn I think is named after the Brooklyn in NYC. For some reason our early town planners decided to name streets and other bits of the city in honor of other parts of the world. I've ended up in the USA bit, within walking distance of Washington Way, Clevland St, Atlanta Gr, Nebraska Way, Colorado Gr, St Louis Pl, Phoenix Way, Virginia Gr and Arizona Gr. Many of my greener photos were taken in Central Park.

South of here(?1?) is the Canadian bit, over the ridge in Newtown is the Australian bit, The Spanish bit with Salamanca and Talavera Rds is up by the University, and there's an Indian bit a little further north. This is not an exhaustive list.

It beats tree names I suppose.

I suppose it does. Also, it avoids the all too common British Commonwealth City street names such as King, Queen, Dominion, Victoria, Charles, George, etc... I've come across those same street names repeated in many Canadian towns. After a while it seems like there must have been a standard city building kit issued to newly appointed governors headed out to the colonies.

Wellington hasn't missed out entirely - there is a Victoria St running parallel to Cuba St in town.
Auckland has the full compliment though, with Queen St, Albert St and Dominion Rd, and I once had a messy bicycle accident between the Victoria and Albert lakes (not really lakes, more glorified duck ponds) in Christchurch.

Oh and FWIW, I agree with you on the framing of this pic, but I think it needs more than a different crop. I really think it needs a reshoot, with more blue left above. Next month, maybe.
