Two birds and the hills at Plimmerton Railway Station

The more I look at this shot, the more I like it. I think I'll crosspost it to LJ photographers.

In other news, the last time the rental agent inspected the house, she insisted that the defunct motorbike left behind the house some four years ago by a previous tenant be removed. I rang around and found a scrap metal yard that would pick it up but we had to get it up the path, which includes two, thankfully short, flights of stairs. Said motorbike rolled, just, on two flat tyres and had badly corroded brake discs which didn't help matters, but I eventually rounded up the two male flatmates (difficult task, getting three out of four flatmates in the same place at the same time) and a helpful neighbour, and we managed to heave it up to the road.

We left it beside the letterbox late Sunday afternoon, and on Monday I rang the scrap-metal place to say that it was ready for pick-up. They said they'd pick it up on Tuesday (today), and when I left for work at a little past eight this morning it wasn't there. I thought that was pretty early for them to have picked it up, a bit odd because they said they'd give me a call so I could be there when they did, and wondered vaguely whether I'd seen it the previous evening.

Turns out the scrap guys hadn't picked it up - they called early this afternoon, so I told them the bike was AWOL and came to the conclusion that someone had nicked it, not that I minded, I was trying to get rid of it, but it would have been nice if they'd asked. That's pretty good going actually, they'd have had to have a trailer or live really close, and I don't like their chances of getting any useful parts off it.
