Things astronomers know: It is possible to find out one heck of a lot about an object without really seeing it.
In other news - I played host to an Unexpected Erin last night. We picnicked on the back lawn, watched the stars come out, saw a satellite and lost a certain amount of blood to the wildlife. Nice.
