As well as sugar water the kaka get fed parrot pellets too. The feeders have lids with levers on them which the bird has to stand on in order to open it. As yet, the tui haven't worked out how to defeat this mechanism.

In other news, I went out and bought my birthday present today, a combination laptop and camera backpack. It has plenty of spare room.
