There's this stormwater outfall near Te Papa. As stormwater outfalls go, it's not too bad - there's a reed bed behind it which renders it a lot less noxious than it could be. When the wind is high, the water gets blown back in sheets of spray. The ducks seem to quite enjoy the shower.
It's been a pretty typical Wellington day all round, actually. Blowing a gale, earthquake at 2am, aftershock at 4, and at least one ministry got pretty much nothing done all day.
