Impulse buy

I now have a shiny matte black new laptop. I'm considering it an investment in my mental health.
(ASUS pro59L, with an extra couple of gigs of RAM. And Vista, unfortunately. That was a learning curve I was hoping to avoid by skipping directly to Windows 7.)

Impulse buy is refusing to boot. I am irritated. Good thing the old one is being cooperative at the moment. I suspect that the extra memory is either borked, or has been fitted incorrectly, as it is complaining about something possibly wrong with new hardware. Then again, it's all new hardware.....
